Synergy Exhibition + Fashion Show
Synergy Exhibition + Fashion Show
Project Overview:
“Synergy” was a 2023 art and fashion exhibition by FreeMarket Gallery featuring paintings by Janice Rago and clothing by Aida Jaganjac-Omerovic of the local fashion brand Ella and Eman. Some of the clothing pieces were created in collaboration, with Janice hand-painting designs on fabrics that Aida incorporated into her garments. The exhibition opened with a fashion show at Ponce City Market Plaza and remained there as a pop-up exhibition for several months. For this exhibition, I was responsible for artwork photography and editing, exhibition branding, event planning and coordination for opening night, Eventbrite and RSVP management, press release writing and distribution, social media content and promotion, and promotional content capture and coordination.
The exhibition launched with a fashion show in an empty space at Ponce City Market, which our team transformed into a temporary gallery and event space suitable for showcasing Aida’s designs, including pieces with hand-drawn fabrics by Janice—alongside Janice Rago’s original paintings. The opening event attracted 300 attendees, and multiple pieces sold that night. Leading up to the event, I collaborated with the gallery team to set up the space, coordinating art hanging, furniture placement, decal installation, and planning photo and video coverage. On opening night, I managed photography and videography coordination with Chil Studios and assisted the artists with fashion show timing and logistics.
Social Media
I scheduled, produced, and managed all social media posts for the gallery events, promotions, and products.
Promotional Content Coordination
I coordinated a photo and video shoot with Chil Studios at their studio space to capture images of Janice and Aida with a selection of pieces from their exhibition collection. I was involved in the production and art direction of this shoot, organizing the mood board, props, talent, and directing the setup, poses, and angles during the shoot. I also coordinated and helped direct a separate video production with Chil of Janice in her studio. These images and videos were used to promote the exhibition online, on social media, alongside press releases, and in paid advertisements.
Artwork Photography
I photographed and edited all artwork images that populated the exhibiition product pages on the website.
